From God's purpose and shape for marriage to the celebration of unity through sex in marriage, we're going to study God's blueprints for what it's supposed to look like and see how His grace can fix what's broken and straighten what's crooked!

Expectations and reality are two different things. For some, reality has hit hard and been painful. Even in good marriages there are times of serious struggle. But there's hope and help in the gospel in the most powerful and unexpected ways imaginable. This series takes us to places we don't normally dare to tread. From taboo topics like sex and abuse to the most profoundly important but usually overlooked biblical teaching on the shape, purpose, and power for marriage.

Most marriage books assume the author did it right. Most marriage books barely mention friendship. Most marriage books use "intimacy" as code for "sex." This is not one of those books. Precious Remedies Against Satan's Devices by Thomas Brooks
This book ranks right up there with "Pilgrim's Progress" in terms of time-honored Puritan classics and is similar to C.S. Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters" in that it exposes the schemes which so frequently work against God's people. Though written years ago, it is extremely relevant to our time. The remedies are unabashedly from God's written Word and are effective "treatment" for the issues at hand. "Precious Remedies Against Satan's Devices" can be used as a devotional, discipleship reading, or tool for counseling. Check this book out from our Church Library in the foyer.

Kingdoms in Conflict: An Insider's Challenging View of Politics, Power, and the Pulpit by Charles Colson
In this book Charles Colson cogently describes causes and effects of cultural changes and comprehensively supplies Scriptural references to explain historical events. It was written towards the beginning of his very prolific writing career. He is also the founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries. Charles (Chuck) Colson passed away on April 21, 2012.

Do You Travel and Collect Travel-size Shampoo and Other Grooming Items?

United Servants Abroad would like donations of these items to minister to the youth in Eleuthra, Bahamas. They provide them to a Christian lady, Adena, who ministers to teen girls by teaching them how to be ladies, how to be well groomed, have good manners and, at the same time, become women of faith in Jesus instead of following the past cycles. Adena's ministry lacks the means to purchase hygiene products. Your donations of small hotel bottles of creams, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, manicure items, or anything a teen girl would need, allows Adena to make small gift bags for them as part of her ministry.

Young Adult Group (YAG)-Single or Married

The desire for community is everywhere in all cultures because it is embedded into how we've been created. From the local coffee shop to social networking sites, Internet gaming, country clubs or sports, we all have an innate desire to belong. The question is not, "Will we engage in community?" Instead we ask, "What type of community will we engage in?" The YAG's desire is to gather together to hear the Gospel, to worship God, to learn who Christ is, to engage in thought-provoking discussion, and to do life together so that we would know and be known, and love and be loved.

We are studying the book of Mark. We meet at the Sturgis' home at 12377 Sawgrass Ct., Wellington from 7:30-9:30 pm every Tuesday night. Please come by and check us out. If you have any questions feel free to email Blake Masterman at email or Kyle Moore at email.

How to Pray for Your Missionaries

The apostle Paul was a man of prayer. He prayed for his many converts and for the new churches established under his ministry. He also asked those that were believers to pray for him. He wrote to the Corinthian believers, " ... you help us by your prayers " (II Corinthians 1:11). He literally begged believers to pray for him. "I urge you, brothers ... to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me" (Romans 15:30). Pray For Open Doors - "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ..." (Colossians 4:2,3)

Pray For Boldness In Witnessing - "Pray also for me...that words may be given so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel..." (Ephesians 6:19)

Pray That The Word Of God Will Have Free Course - "Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored." (II Thessalonians 3:1) Pray For Protection - "Pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith." (II Thessalonians 3:2) Pray Their Ministry Will Be Accepted By Believers - "Pray...that my service (ministry) in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints." (Romans 15:31) Pray For Divine Guidance And Assistance In Travel - "Pray...that by God's will I may come to you with joy…" (Romans 15:32) Pray For Refreshment - "Pray… that I may, together with you, be refreshed." (Romams 15:32b)
