Music Ministry
There are a number of opportunities for musical involvement in our worship service.
CHOIR — Rehearses and participates September-May — Open to all!
Our Choir is a traditional choral ensemble, but who sings a wide range of music—from classical repertory to spirituals and current titles. The Choir is open to all singers from high school age up. Auditions are not required, though the director may ask to hear you just to get to know you and/or for placement. We have a wide range of talent in the choir, from trained musicians to folks who just like to sing.
INSTRUMENTALISTS
We have a number of opportunities for instrumentalists to participate—ensembles, solos, duets, obbligatos, etc. We have folks who play piano, organ, woodwind, brass, and percussion.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR — Rehearses and participates September-April — K-gr.5
One way for us to engage our children in worship is with our Children's Choir. Children from kindergarten through fifth grade may participate. This is one way we can instruct our children on worship while teaching good singing techniques and basic music skills.
"BAND"
Most of our more contemporary music is lead by an ensemble of 8-10 musicians. Instruments currently being used include keyboard, guitar, bass guitar, drums and/or miscellaneous percussion, flute, recorder, whistle, flugelhorn, in addition to 3-5 vocalists. Members of this team are rotated from a pool of about 26 musicians.
