What is true in the physical realm is also true in the church- a healthy church that is focused on its Biblical mission and Spirit-led vision for that mission will also have a form that reflects those spiritual priorities. At Wellington Presbyterian Church, we desire that we would become a congregation that does church as a team!
This website is intended to serve as a ministry directory to help explain the shape, function and relationship of our ministry teams as they seek to fulfill our vision of being a church that connects.
Organizing to Connect...
Below is a chart that shows how our different teams are connected to one another and to our leadership. While the Session bears the ultimate servant-leadership responsibilities in our church, they have tasked the Pastoral Team to provide direct help, resourcing, and accountability to all our ministry teams. Some of our teams work directly under the leadership of a pastoral staff member, but most do not- the pastoral staff merely resources, equips, and works to ensure they stay focused on their unique role in helping us fulfill our vision. Each team has an Elder Liason from the Session who has a heart for that particular area of ministry. They are there not to lead the team, but to shepherd them by equipping, encouraging, and participating as a fellow team member.
